New year and new meeting time–please note. Business meeting with program will begin at 6 pm. January 9 speaker will be Steve Ray presenting little known facts about the JFK Assasination from his perspective as a funeral director. Steve shares entertaining and unusual facts about how anyone’s story ends so this one as famous as it is will be quite interesting. Meetings and programs are open to the public.

December 12 Potluck 5 pm
Historical Society of Hopkins County and the Genealogical Society of Hopkins County held a joint potluck/Christmas program and installaion of 2014 Officers December 12 at 5 pm in the fellowship hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, North Main, Madisonville.
Approximately 80 attendees enjoyed the shared feast and delightful program. Guest speaker Steven Vest from Kentucky Monthly magazine told interesting tales about Kentucky, writing and publishing.
After brief opening remaks by Mayor David Jackson, Hopkins County Judge Executive Donnie Carroll installed officers with the oath of office for each organization. See pictures in photo gallery.
