Historical Society of Hopkins County will meet at the Hopkins County Government Center, 56 North Main at 6:30 pm on Thursday, July 8. Program speaker will be noted author Eddie Price of Daviess County, who will present Homemaking on the Kentucky Frontier. Exhibits will include some historic tools. The public is invited to this FREE program provided by the Historical Society of Hopkins County.

May 10 Meeting Dr. Thad Salmon

Next meeting, Thursday May 10, 2018, Dr. Thad Salmon will share some memories of his dad Dr. James Salmon, including community and military service.

Meetings are now held at the Fiscal Court room, 56 N. Main, enter through north side door.  Handicap accessible.  Meetings begin at 6:30 pm on 2nd Thursday of each month.

Another great night of memories- dating at least 20 men before you pic one to marry, details from a young lady’s diary, life long friendships, a purloined pie, Senior Sneak day…. if you missed it you missed it- no recording due to select shared events that parents may not have known about. Yes tellers were in their 70’s but we have several members over 90 who regularly attend

April 13 meeting

Panelists who were born in 1920s, 30s and 40s shared stories about horseshoes, dances at the city patk club house, early homemade ziplines, paper routes, and even a spanking or two at school.

Judy Adkins leads Women’s History month with latest booklet of Hopkins County women history makers.
